King Kong or Manny Shaquiao?

posted by Mills-McCoin @ 7:58 PM

Mr. O'Neal's skills as a basketball player are... basic, old school, becoming unnecessary, etc. Shaq's wit however continues to mature like wine or Muhammed Ali. At one point Shaq says, in his deep basin of a voice, to De la Hoya, "Maybe this fight should be called "The Ali/Chamberlain Remix."

Shaq’s larger than life personality (/ego) shadows his deceptive athletic prowess. Each of his competitors leave the contest with a puzzled look on their face; and without fail, at some point utter the words: “He’s an incredible athlete... I had no idea.”

This show doesn’t just stroke the ego of Shaq as he tries to take over the sports world, instead there are the typical reality TV filler minutes comprised of charitable talk and nostalgic subject in no way pertaining to sports or comedy. So if you’re a fan of Ty Pennington, then don’t worry. You can expect to get some Ty Shaqinngton size altruism.

Do yourself a favor though: watch the video of Shaq and De la Hoya. Personally I suggest you fast forward to the actual fight part; although there are some great parts leading up to the bout. For instance, Oscar reveals his corner man to be Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins (Shaq’s favorite boxer). Shaq then counters with his corner man- Freddie Roach. Freddie Roach might be the greatest corner man ever and trained Manny Pacquiao in his fight against De la Hoya. We all know who won that one.

Just watch it. It’s hilarious.

Another thing you might've noticed is that Oscar de la Hoya punches Shaq in the gut maybe 40 or 50 times. Yet it has no effect on Shaqalicious.
